Young and the Restless

I am beyond tired but I just cannot fall asleep. I keep on tossing and turning. Perhaps it is because I keep on thinking too much. Kind of reminds me of the days when I was going through the breakup. "ACK Kim's body....please go into shutdown mode and go to bed please." I am so weak and so very tired. I am hoping this blog will put me to sleep. I just popped some Melatonin. I really hope it helps or else I will not be a happy camper tomorrow morning.

When I was practicing earlier at the YMCA, there were times I felt so faint and weak...like I was gonna collapse. I am so glad I didn't. "Heart don't fail me now. Courage don't desert me. Don't turn back now that we're here." Yah I just quoted Disney's Anastasia....so?

Tomorrow is a little more laidback than today. I have one session with Destini at 11 am, where we will be taking a couple of shots with her D-SLR camera for her own blog "Running to the Aisle". Check it out. Now let's all hope you will not be able to see my bags underneath my eyes...eek.

After the session, I will most likely do my own workout. Now I had mentioned in my vlog that it was my last leg workout the other day but REALLY tomorrow is the last leg day. So I will try to push it to the limits with the energy I have with a little bit of practice on the side.

At 3:00 pm is when I get to finally have some downtime and relax with my eyelash refill appointment at Nails 2000 on Taylor and Harrow. The last time I fell asleep in the process. I kinda hope I do again if I don't get any sleep tonight.

Which takes me to the evening. Now I have 2 birthdays to attend to but really I do not know if I'll have the strength. I guess we will have to wait and see what tomorrow brings. Until then...sleep or try to.

Gnite.

Documenter-ME: Part Deux

So the manager at the YMCA didn't get back to me about filming in the gym area. I had previously talked to Manny, a fella who works in the main gym area and he said it would be okay with him to film. So Mirah and I went down to the gym thinking we got the A-OK. I just wanted to double check at the desk again and low and behold...they said we couldn't film. Sadness. So we will attempt again. Stay tuned.

You Are The Weakest Link....Goodbye!

So Sam told me this story about Arnold Swarchenegger when he first started training. The weakest point on his body were his calves, therefore he wore shorts to show the whole world that they needed work. I am adopting this method to my own personal growth.

My weakest point right now has got to be my core/midsection. My solution: do as Arnold would do and wear a pair of shorts and a sports bra....yep...that's it that's all. Sure I feel a little uncomfortable at times but I have to get to the point where I am comfortable in my own skin. Makes sense now doesn't it? So while my wobbly bits are flying around...sure...you people who stare can make fun of me now. Just do it while you can. It'll be short-lived. It won't be that way for much longer. Hasta la vista, baby!!!

With the new year comes new resolutions. With that, brand spanking new members at the YMCA Downtown...yippee. While I applaud some of the new members of the gym when they work up a sweat, there are always others who just come for a water cooler conversation telling you how they used to look like and what they USED to bench. We are all here for a reason: to workout. So less talking and more sweating.

Only 2 months away from competition time and let me tell you now....time is definitely flying. I cannot even believe it. I am still having doubts as to if I will be ready. Will I have to wait another year perhaps? I hope not. It is one of my goals to be on that stage and from there on out tell people "I AM A BODYBUILDER." To utter those words would be just amazing.

One day....one day

Blast Through It Baby

So usually when the weather is nice out I wear my gym attire (aerobic shorts & tank) to the YMCA. One beautiful day I was walking to the gym and these two young men coming towards me yelled out something. I wasn't sure at the time what they were saying but as they neared I heard one of them clearly say "nice ass". I pretended not to hear them but they just yelled it out louder and louder as they passed me. Although quite rude, I was oddly flattered. Crazy youngsters.

Sam & I dropped by Meyer's to pay the fellas a visit like we normally do and they had just got a new pre-workout called Razor8 Blast Powder by AllMax Nutrition. Sam, being a self-proclaimed guinea pig, decided to test it out. To my surprise, he even said I could try it out. Only 1/2 a scoop since by looking at the nutritional information this stuff was quite strong. Sam said he felt his eyes bulge about a minute later. I didn't feel anything at first but as I got into my workout it really kicked in. I did an extra set (making it 4) for each exercise. I finished off my leg/glute weight training with a bit of cardio and this time it was spectacular. I did my interval training for much longer (25 minutes) with the running interval for 2 minutes and walking for 1 minute. After my cardio was done, I wanted to do MORE. But I wanted to be smart about it so I skipped directly to the stretching part. Now let's review:

Taste: 8
Focus/Concentration: 10
Price: 7

I have to say this pre-workout is right up there with Purus Labs Muscle Marinade. On a taste level, this is quite tasty as compared to other pre-workouts. My concentration & intensity was unmoving, which I loved. The one downfall I have is the anxious feeling. I was feeling a little uneasy & jittery WAY after my workout. But overall, this one has got to be one of the strongest pre-workouts I have ever tried. Not for the weak at heart that's for sure. So if you want a really strong pre-workout when you really just don't have it in you, this baby will do it for you and then some.
